WHILE online courses are expanding rapidly, Australian universities still post out traditional print study packages to tens of thousands of students who are studying by more conventional distance education methods.

Alan Smith, associate professor and director of the distance and e-learning centre at the University of Southern Queensland, says it is all about making the most of what is available.
