SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 10, 2002-Audio products from ClearOne Communications Inc. (Nasdaq: CLRO) have been specified for installation in several new distance education classrooms and lecture halls at The University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, Texas.

ClearOne’s XAP™ 800 and PSR1212 audio products will be installed in four 80-seat classrooms, two 70-seat classrooms, three 120-seat lecture halls and one 180-seat lecture hall in the university’s College of Engineering and Computer Science. The rooms are part of a new building that will nearly double the size of the college’s existing facility.

According to Chris Roberts of Boner & Associates LLC, the consultant for the project, the university wanted to create a state-of-the-art distance education environment. "Everything about the UTD facility is top notch, from the central control room, which can visually monitor and distribute content to virtually any room in the facility, to the extensive distribution of microphones in each of the large classrooms at the rate of one per every two students."

"The large scale of the project, with its wide product deployment, was key to our decision to specify ClearOne products," continued Roberts. "The facility’s 10 new rooms require dozens of pieces of audio equipment, and ClearOne’s products offer the most powerful, efficient solution available."
