Amesbury High School is leading the state in distance learning opportunities for its students. As part of a state-wide pilot program, AHS is the only Massachusetts high school offering a college level course through Massachusetts College Online (MCO) to its students. In addition, professors from Northern Essex Community College (NECC) now come to AHS twice a week to teach college level courses to AHS students.
"Amesbury is on the cutting edge doing this," AHS Principal Les Murray said. "It's a great enrichment opportunity for kids who want to go beyond what we have here. I think it's easier for Amesbury to do this than other schools because of the foundation laid by distance learning."Read the Full Story
