Before
you commit yourself to such an adventure, you should ask yourself
the following questions:
Do
I like working and learning on a computer or television? Am
I comfortable resolving technology problems when they arise? Would
I want to learn new software, or a set of online procedures
just to access the course materials, or chat with the faculty
and others, who are taking the course? Do
I work well alone? Am
I self-disciplined enough to follow the lessons on my own
without, peer pressure, or pressure from the course instructor? Will
I be comfortable, if I don't get to see the instructor in
person? Will
I be comfortable if I have to ask questions via email? How
would I make sure the online course is as effective and good
as an on-campus course? Do
I know anyone who has taken this course online? If
the course does not support an online chat or forum for those
taking the course, will I be able to form one on my own?
